Inaugural meeting of Regional Investment Officers

Regional Development Australia Far South Coast is proud to announce the inaugural meeting of Regional Investment Officers (RIOs), based within the Australian Territories of Jervis Bay, Indian Ocean and Norfolk Island.

Regional Development Australia Far South Coast, RIO, Violet Green began a conversation with other RIO’s about getting together to provide each other with support, share ideas and collaborate to promote and facilitate economic development within Territories.

On the 16 July, Violet Green of Jervis Bay Territory, accompanied by RDA FSC CEO Fiona Hatcher, Madi Signa of Indian Ocean Territory and Kerry Grace of Norfolk Island Territory met for the first time in Sydney. The group discussed areas suitable for collaboration and the challenges surrounding remote territorial communities.

RIO’s are place based operatives and facilitate connection between local Councils, State and Federal Governments and local and mainland businesses and potential investors. RIOs assist in attracting business investment and facilitating partnerships for the economic and social benefit of their territories.

This collaborative team of RIO’s are making a valuable contribution to their respective stakeholders in the region to promote development with a focus on attracting investment, creating local jobs, and driving innovation and economic growth.
